国际激光雷达学术会议（the International LaserRadar Conference，简称ILRC）每两年举办一次，由国际激光大气研究协会负责组织。该协会的成员国主要来自美国、欧洲、日本、俄罗斯、加拿大、拉丁美洲和中国等国家，委员会由1位主席和13位委员组成。其中，中国委员一直由来自中国科学院合肥物质科学研究院安徽光学精密机械研究所的人员担任。前三任中国委员分别是胡欢陵，周军和王英俭。自2017年6月起，由安徽光机所大气光学研究中心研究员刘东担任。

近年来，随着中国激光雷达技术的不断进步并日臻完善，激光雷达平台也从地基逐渐发展为机载和星载，激光雷达在环保、气象、生态、农业、海洋和测绘等领域的应用也越来越广泛。经国际激光大气研究协会投票决定，ILRC29花落安徽合肥。这是中国首次获得国际激光雷达学术会议的举办权，也标志着中国激光雷达技术的研究水平得到了世界各国的认可。

第29届国际激光雷达学术会议（简称ILRC29）将于2019年6月23至28日在安徽合肥召开，会议议题及日程安排如下。
